Loveart&…Next Up Foundation & Hurley

Loveart& was invited by the Next Up Foundation to do a DIY t-shirt surface design workshop for the participants at their Santa Ana location. Next Up Foundation works with kids and teens in underserved communities providing guidance through skateboarding and supplying them with skate equipment, mentoring and supervision. The t-shirts for this workshop were generously donated by Punker Pat Towersey of Hurley. Using the fresh new Hurley tees, the kids hand-cut stencils and created thier own unique surface designs using tape and fabric paint. So easy and so rad!!

Loveart&…SOY Center DIY Skill Series ~ Dream Catchers

For the last workshop in this DIY series at SOY Center in Costa Mesa we made dream catchers using recycled bangle bracelets, found sea shells and feathers.

Loveart&…Healthy Kids Day Event

Loveart& was invited to host a planting workshop at the Newport-Mesa Family YMCA's Healthy Kids Day Saturday, April 28th from 10:00am-1pm, 2300 University Drive, Newport Beach, CA 92660 This event is open to the public! Stop by and check it out! Loveart& will be re-purposing plastic water bottles as planters for young strawberry plants.

SOY (Save Our Youth) DIY Skill Series Week 4

This week we explored making our own soap using natural shea butter, organic essential oils, dried flowers, and recycled paper bags to create personalized labels and wrapping. We explained the importance of ingredients and reading the labels to ensure you are not using products that are harmful to the environment or your body. Everyone had a blast with this easy, DIY, inexpensive project – great for your skin, good for the environment and makes an excellent gift!! click here to watch the video

SOY (Save Our Youth) DIY Skill Series Week 2

In week 2 of Loveart&’s DIY Skill Series we transformed old t-shirts into reusable tote bags, using hand stitching techniques. We added the patches and pockets we made in week 1 to the bags. SOY (Save Our Youth) DIY Skill Series Week 1

Week 1 of a 4 week DIY skill series that Loveart& is doing with the SOY (Save Out Youth) Center in Costa Mesa, CA. This workshop explores surface design on fabric using hand-made stencils and fabric paint. They created pockets and patches that they will learn to hand-stitch in week 2 of the series in which they will transform an old t-shirt into a tote bag and sew on their hand-made/designed patches or pockets… Click here to watch the video
